About the Awards

Since the inception of the inaugural Sukuk Summit in 2007, the associated Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony (hosted by DIFX in its inauguration) has each year celebrated outstanding achievements and excellence in Sukuk, Islamic Capital Market products and Islamic financial market products more generally.

The Summit’s Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony, of which the main objective is to recognise the outstanding contribution and achievements of individuals, institutions, supranationals and financial centres serving the global Islamic financial services industry, especially the proliferating global Sukuk market, has each year been attended by a guest of honour and in 2014 was graced by the presence of Guest of Honour, Rt Hon Baroness Saeeda Warsi, Senior Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO).

Representatives of major, financial and corporate organisations from the UK & Europe, across the GCC and South East Asian countries have attended the Gala Dinner Awards ceremony. Over 40 institutions and individuals are honoured every year for their excellence, outstanding contributions and achievements in various areas of Islamic capital market products including Sukuk and Islamic financial services.

The Sukuk Summit Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony now in its 10th Anniversary Year, is to held as part of the 2016 London Sukuk Summit on the evening of the 25th of May at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Knightsbridge, London. The premier awards ceremony has, become a much celebrated and sort after industry accolade and we wish all participating entities the best of luck!

We believe in making your awards entry as straightforward as possible. The following guidelines help to ensure that the nomination process is fair and gives nominees a ‘level playing field’. Please try to follow each step as closely as you can. We look forward to receiving your nominations. Closing dates for nominations is the 29th of April 2016. A deadline you can’t afford to miss!

Please note the following –

Nominees have to specify the award nomination category.
Nominees can submit their application for more than one category, but must provide relevant details for each category.
Choose the award category relevant to you, then fill out the form on this site by clicking the button below. Submitted forms must be complete.
As the questions are detailed, we suggest you take your time and answer the questions carefully. The form could time out if you leave it idle for too long.
There is an option to upload supporting documents at the end of the online form. These can be in Word, pdf, ppt or jpeg format, with a total file size not exceeding 1MB. Please note: these are not to be considered a substitute for the completed online form.
Achievements detailed in nominations should not be older than 18 months. Those older than that may not be considered.

What Next?

Nominees will be shortlisted by our auditors, and then sent to a panel of industry expert judges, who’ve been pre-selected to work with us.
All shortlisted nominations will be sent to the judging panel.
Each entry will be judged based on how it compares with all other entries submitted in its category and the judges own knowledge of the sector and entity in question.
Based on the details provided in the application and substantiating facts, the judges will select finalists for each category.
The judges might verify the information provided in the nomination form by calling the individual/company that has been nominated.

In case of any disputes, the decision taken by ICG will be considered final. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by e-mail. The awards will take place on the evening of the 25th of May 2016.

The Sukuk Summit Awards of Excellence are selected by a panel of judges who are made up of respected industry experts from across the GCC, Europe and South East Asia respectively. The panel of judges are responsible for nominations – utilising their own expert market knowledge whilst also taking into consideration all nominations when evaluating and selecting those institutions and individuals that they deem to have attained outstanding achievement(s), success and excellence over the past 18 months.

In order to make the process as transparent as possible institutions and the general public are also entitled to submit nominations for those entities and individuals that they feel deserve recognition. All of the factors above are taken into consideration during the selection of winners in the various categories and we encourage all interested parties to participate in the nomination process.
